Here’s a More Affordable Way to Get Botox® Results

You’ve probably heard of Botox® for smoothing facial wrinkles. At Everglow Medical Spa in Cincinnati, we offer a more affordable “Botox” treatment called Xeomin®. It’s another brand name, the way Advil® and Motrin® are different brands of ibuprofen, an over-the-counter pain reliever.

Like Botox, Xeomin uses botulinum toxin type A, an injectable neurotoxin or Neurotox that temporarily stops nerve impulses from reaching the muscles, causing them to slacken. As a result, your expression softens, and those lines are more smoothed out and less visible.

Our West Chester residents who use Neurotox are delighted to learn that the procedure is quick. It usually takes only a few minutes and requires minimal downtime. While the effects are temporary, many people find the results worth it.

How a Neurotox treatment can improve your appearance

Neurotoxin injectables can smooth wrinkles and improve the skin’s overall look by smoothing texture irregularities. At Everglow Medical Spa, we most often treat areas where muscles influence your facial features, such as:

  • Frown lines
  • “Crow’s feet” around the eyes
  • Creases in the forehead
  • Creases in the mouth corners
  • A chin appearing “cobblestoned”

Neurotox helps our Everglow patients in the Cincinnati area improve their appearance by acquiring a youthful look and softening expressions that might convey concern or worry. After a treatment, your face will look refreshed and more approachable, conveying a more friendly and relaxed demeanor.

Neurotox can also help with excessive sweating. Injections of botulinum type A disrupt the nerve impulses that activate your sweat glands. This temporary disruption helps relieve the embarrassment from extreme sweating in the underarms, hands, or feet.

If you’re bothered by prominent vertical neck bands, Neurotox can solve that issue, too. The injections relax the appropriate muscles and give your neck a more uniform appearance.

Choosing a West Chester provider for your Neurotox treatment

You want a provider who understands facial anatomy and has a well-developed aesthetic eye. Whomever you choose, make sure your provider has a proven background in cosmetic treatments, training, and substantial experience administering botulinum toxin treatments.

Consider asking for “before” and “after” photos of the provider’s patients. If an assistant will be performing your injections, they should work under a qualified physician’s supervision, which is the case at Everglow Medical Spa.

What to expect during your treatment visit

Before starting your first treatment, you’ll meet with your Everglow specialist to discuss your skincare goals and needs. During your initial consultation, your provider will evaluate your areas of concern and review your medical history.

When you return to our office for treatment, you may be offered a topical anesthetic to numb the area. However, many patients find this unnecessary, as the needles are very thin and the injections are not deep.

Most patients describe a feeling like a pinch when the needle enters the skin, though most wouldn’t call it pain. You won’t have much time to think about how it feels because the procedure takes only a few minutes.

Immediately after treatment, you can return to your normal activities and even work. However, your provider may recommend taking the day off from exercise or other strenuous activity and keeping your head upright for the rest of the day.

Keep in mind, you will not see results immediately. Depending on the person and facial area treated, the final results are usually noticeable about a week later.

How long do results last?

Effects vary, but results typically last three to six months. To maintain your enhanced look, your provider may offer to repeat the treatment, adjusting dosage and delivery techniques to ensure optimal results.
